Stranger Things
Season one of Stranger Things, the Netflix original show, was released on July 15, 2016. The show is centered around a young boy that went missing, his devastated mother and brother, his friends, a determined cop, and a girl with superhuman capabilities. The show contains aspects of scientific fiction as it includes a government operated facility in which unethical and unreal scientific experiments are being conducted. I usually am not a fan of scientific fiction and cannot bring myself to watch any movies or shows related to it. But, Stranger Things is brilliantly written and remarkably captivating, I completely fell in love with it, and the scientific fiction included is interesting and not over the top. The show contains comedy, mystery, adventure, and romance, every genre a good show needs. Four of the main characters; Mike, Eleven, Dustin and Lucas, are fairly young but that does not affect their acting capabilities. The children do an amazing job in portraying the mix of emotions prevalent throughout the show. Wiona Ryder, who plays the mother of the missing boy plays the part perfectly. Her ability to make viewers feel the pain, confusion, and craziness that her character experiences throughout the season amazes me. The show is one that I completely recommend for boys and girls of all ages and of all interests. The date of the release of Season 2 is not yet known, but predicted to be during Summer of 2017.
